1. General
============
 This document is applied for thermal printer drivers shown below.

      Driver set number: FTP21461006G
      Driver set name  : FTP21461006G_6xEDSL100V320

  OS : Windows 7 x64
       Windows 8.1 x64
       Windows 10 x64
  These drivers work under OS language selection of both English and Japanese.

  Printer model : FTP-62EDSL100 series

2. Typical characteristics of this printer driver
==================================================
  * Paper length selection free (1/2Letter length, Letter length, Legal length,
    and many other selectable length including user definition).
       Attention : Paper width is fixed with each driver.
  * Selecting paper to use, printing density is controlled automatically to fit
    each thermal paper sensitivity. Otherwise printing density is adjustable as
    you wish for the paper of your own.

3. Driver installation process
===============================

  -------------------------
  3-1. Before installation
  -------------------------
    1) This driver set is supplied in ZIP type file style having the name
       shown below.

         File name : FTP21461006G_6xEDSL100V320.zip

    2) Unzip the file and there created 6 files and folders as below.

    3) Please prepare the original OS installation disc because sometimes
       Windows system might require it in driver installation process.

  3-2. Installation process
  --------------------------
   Please follow the steps shown below to install the driver.
   Some steps might be skipped because of own pc setting, go on to the next
   step without care in that case.

   1) Connect PC and Printer with USB cable, set the power ON.
   2) Open Device Maneger("C:\windows\system32\devmgmt.msc"). Then right-click 
      "Other devices\FTAFTP-62EDSL101" and cliick "Update Driver Software...".
   3) Click "Browse my computer for driver software"button.
   4) Click "Browse..."button. Display where install disk is placed shall be shown,
      and designate pass as follows.
      6inch printer:FTP66E folder
      8inch printer:FTP68E folder
      (Please uncheck "Include subfolders".)
   5) Click "Next"button.
   6) Start installing hardware.
      Click "Install this driver software anyway". And start installing.
   7) Click "Close"button.
   8) When installed normally, printer in printer folder shall be added.

4. Driver uninstallation process
=================================

  You can uninstall this printer driver when you don't need it anymore.

   1) Open "Programs and Features" from Control Panel.
   2) Double-click "FTP-62EDSL100 FTP6xE Uninstaller".
      When "User Account Control" displayed, click "Continue"button.
   3) Click "Start Uninstall".
   4) When message "Uninstall was successful" is displayed, uninstall is completed.

5. Setting of Printer features 
=================================

    1) Select the driver in "Printers" folder.
    2) Right-click the driver, then select "Printing Preferences". And open 
       "Properties" dialog.
    3) Click "Advanced..." button, then open "Advanced Options" dialog.

    -- Print settings --
       * Quality
           Select the paper that you use. Printing energy is controlled automatically
           to fit each thermal paper sensitivity.
           If you select 'Custom', "TYPE" item is available.

       * TYPE
           Select the print mode set by the print quality.  
           For more information about "Quality" and "TYPE" settings,  see the
           "Product specification > Commands specification > GS E+n".

       * Energy Adjustment
           Adjust energy when printing.
           [OFF] :
               Use the default value.
           [ON] :
              Use the specified value.

       * Remove bottom margin of page
           [Last page only] :
              Remove the bottom margin of the last page.
           [Each page] :
              Remove the bottom margin of each page.
           [None] :
              The paper is printed according to paper size setting.

       * Auto Div
           [OFF] :
               Automatic division print mode is canceled.
           [ON] :
              Automatic division print mode is set.
           For more information about "Auto Div" settings,  see "GS E+n" in 
           command specification.

       * Print Mode
           [High-speed collective image printing] :
             This mode specifies the High-speed collective image printing.
           [Bit image printing] :
             This mode specifies prints the Bit image printing.

      * Speed Type
           [High Speed] :
              Speed level is set to High Speed.
           [Low Speed] :
              Speed level is set to Low Speed.

       * Print Speed
           You can customize the print speed.
           The print speed that can be specified depends on Print Mode and Speed Type.
           For more information about "Print Speed" settings, see "ESC s" 
           and "FS *" in command specification.


    -- Paper Feed settings --
       * Start of document
           You can customize the paper feed lines at start of document.
           The unit is a dot-line (1mm = 8dot-lines), the allowable range is
           from 0 to 255.

       * Start of page
           You can customize the paper feed lines at start of page.
           The unit is a dot-line (1mm = 8dot-lines), the allowable range is
           from 0 to 255.

       * End of page
           You can customize the paper feed lines at end of page.
           The unit is a dot-line (1mm = 8dot-lines), the allowable range is
           from 0 to 255.

       * End of document
           You can customize the paper feed lines at end of document.
           The unit is a dot-line (1mm = 8dot-lines), the allowable range is
           from 0 to 255.


    -- Mark Detection settings --
       * Mark Detection
           [None] :
              The printer does not detect the mark.
           [Each page] :
              The printer detects the mark page by page, and feeds the paper up
              to the mark position.
           [Each document] :
              The printer detects the mark only at the end of document, and feeds
              the paper up to the mark position.

       * Mark Detection Length
           You can adjust the mark detection length.
           The unit is cm, the allowable range is from 1 to 127.

       * Mark Feed lines
           You can adjust the paper feed lines after the mark detection.
           The unit is a dot-line(1mm = 8dot-lines), the allowable range is
           from 16 to 63.

6. Caution
=================
  6-1. You can make original length of paper using "Server Properties" in the menu
       displayed by clicking the right button of a mouse in a printer folder.
       Available range is from 10mm to 3200mm, and paper width is fixed to the
       value shown below.

           FTP66E  ...   14.41 cm  (Print head : 1152 pixels)
           FTP68E  ...   21.22 cm  (Print head : 1696 pixels)

  6-2. This printer driver is monochromatic only, so actual color or gray scale
       printing data is changed to some dot pattern data of "Dither" method by
       OS. Sometimes small size letters or graphics having small area with
       light "Dither" pattern might look as to be not printed.
  6-3. Thermal printer is using print head of 203 DPI(dots per inch) printing
       density and has pixels shown above.  Some small dot data that is shown
       in display having more number of pixels might be canceled from printing
       data by OS.
  6-4. In the case printing direction is set as "Landscape", the right margin 
       of the page is removed by "Remove bottom margin of page".
       If you need paper feed for this blank area, please set 
       "Remove bottom margin of page" to be "None" state.
  6-5. Please do not change driver setting (paper selectionand so on) when printing
       is in process.
  6-6. This printer does not support your computer's sleep or hibernation mode.
       Do not switch the computer to sleep mode or hibernation mode during 
       printing as this may cause a printing error.
  6-7. Printer settings can not be changed from "Modern UI". When printer settings 
       was changed from "Control Panel", these settings can be used on "Modern UI".
